Ghana Library Authority and Enyidadomba Foundation Partner to Support Learners in Gomoa Central District

The Ghana Library Authority – Central Region, has announced a collaboration with the Enyidadomba Foundation to help children in the Gomoa Central District attain academic achievement.

In the “Read for Life” campaign, the Enyidadomba Foundation, a Ghanaian non-profit organization involved in capacity building and literacy promotion in schools, offered reading materials to 858 students in the Asebu and Pomadze communities from October 2022 to February 2023.

To assess the learners and measure the impact of books on their academic lives, a quiz competition was organized between the six beneficiary schools in the two communities, namely; Pomadze D/A ‘B’ Junior High School, Pomadze D/A ‘A’ Junior High School, Solocom Educational Complex, St. Helena Preparatory School, Christ Outreach Preparatory School and Gomoaman Preparatory School. Pomadze D/A ‘B’ Junior High School took the first position with 22 points, Solocom Educational Complex came second with 17 points, and Pomadze D/A ‘A’ Junior High School took the third position with 12 points.

Dr. Madison Adanusa, the Executive Director of the Enyidadomba Foundation, expressed his gratitude to the Ghana Library Authority, Central Region, and the project team. He assured the Gomoa Central District of his continued support towards the educational advancement of learners in the communities and called on other individuals and NGOs to support the accessibility of education and reading materials in communities. He also pledged the foundation’s support in ensuring that children in the community build their confidence and take up responsible roles in the future.

Nana Berima Ogyeabo Kum I, Enyimfahene of Gomoa Asebu, expressed his passion for the educational development of children in the communities and his support towards the activities of the foundation. He advised parents to encourage and monitor their children’s participation in various learning and developmental activities instead of watching certain programs on TV with them.

The partnership between the Ghana Library Authority and the Enyidadomba Foundation demonstrates a commitment to promoting literacy and capacity building in communities, particularly among young learners. This collaboration will continue to provide access to educational resources and support the academic success of learners in the Gomoa Central District.
